The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) was created to administer long-term services and supports for people who are aging as well as for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. The DADS mission is to provide a comprehensive array of aging and disability services, supports, and opportunities that are easily accessed in local communities


Administration for Community Living -  All Americans including people with disabilities and older

adults should be able to live at home with the supports they need, participating in communities

that value their contributions.

To help meet these needs, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)

created a new organization, the Administration for Community Living (ACL).


The National Family Caregiver Support Program-  (NFCSP), established in 2000, provides grants to

States and Territories, based on their share of the population aged 70 and over, to fund a range of

supports that assist family and informal caregivers to care for their loved ones at home for as long

as possible.

The Eldercare Locator, a public service of theAdministration on Aging,

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,

is a nationwide service that connects older Americans and their caregivers with information on senior services.
